New Apple iPhone to do battle with HTC Evo 4G

Dienstag, Mai 4th, 2010

Two brand new, market-changing smartphones will do battle later this year, with the iPhone 4G going up against the HTC Evo 4G.

A blog posting on Autostraddle.com said that both firms will offer excellent touch screen capability, with the iPhone set to give an improved resolution on the 3GS model.

“There’s no denying that 4G connectivity is the future, with speeds rumored to be ten-times that of 3G. Granted it’s not everywhere, but most major cities will see coverage in 2010, with the network expanding from there,” the poster added.

The devices are also expected to be closely matched in terms of speed, with the iPhone 4G building on improvements which were made in the 3GS.

Apple will also make an effort to improve the iPhone’s camera, jumping up from three megapixels, while flash and a front-facing video camera will also be included.

It is also rumoured that the Apple 4G will allow full multi-tasking, meaning that users will not have to quit a game to reply to a text message.ADNFCR-2524-ID-19757364-ADNFCR

New survey shows demand for iPhone is still huge

Donnerstag, April 15th, 2010

A new piece of research undertaken in the US has highlighted the popularity of the iPhone.

CNN reported that data collected by Piper Jaffray’s Gene Munster found that 31 per cent of teenagers want to own one of Apple’s high-tech handsets, with 14 per cent already having one.

The semi-annual survey into teen buying habits reported that Apple’s “dominance in the consumer electronics and online music markets is going seemingly unchecked”.

Furthermore, the research found that the number of people who want to own an iPhone has doubled from a year ago, while the same could be said for the number of people who now own one.

Apple’s dominance was also clear in the MP3 player market, with data showing that of the 87 per cent of teens who own one of these devices, 92 per cent of that figure own an iPod.

One of the reasons for the success of the iPhone could be down to its burgeoning App Store, which this week welcomed a top-selling PC port of Football Manager.ADNFCR-2524-ID-19722300-ADNFCR
